Hot Chili Limited Brand Identity

Hot Chili Limited Company Branding

Hot Chili Limited is an ASX-listed Australian company with major interests in three large, multi-commodity copper projects in Chile - one of the world's largest iron-oxide-copper-gold provinces.

Design City created Hot Chili's initial company identity and was commissioned to rebrand and reposition the company to make the important transition from explorer to project developer.

We've completed stacks of effective company branding and marketing, including:

  • Stationery and Templates like letterheads, business cards, ASX announcements, investor PowerPoint presentations, memos and email mailouts;
  • Marketing and Advertising materials including magazine advertisements, company brochures, project overview flyers and conference banners;
  • Annual Reports and IPO documents including Hot Chili's initial prospectus as well as notice of meeting and proxy form mailouts.

Following a landmark deal with Chilean resource major CMP, Hot Chili were keen to evolve the 2015 annual report to reflect their success.

Angled shapes, in striking red, highlight important areas and drawing the eye to photo captions.

Break-out quotes overlaid on panoramic landscape photos create dynamic double page spreads that show the sheer scale of operations. Clean one and two column layouts use large header fonts for legibility in print and online.

To further enhance the colour of the images and maps, premium-coated paper was used for the front section. The financial section was printed black and white on sustainable-uncoated paper  to reduce environmental impact and delivery/printing costs. With the clever use of fonts and consistent styling the transition from colour pages to black and white is seamless. Complicated tables and large areas of black text become easier to read against the high contrast of the white paper.

The document is a valuable marketing tool for shareholders across the globe. On-brand design is keeping Hot Chili on-track to become one of the few ASX-listed copper producers.

It’s been a great year for Hot Chili, who have taken great strides towards establishing themselves as the new and exciting Australian mid-tier copper producer in Chile. The 2013 Annual Report reflects the growth Hot Chili has seen as they transition from explorer to developer.

The cover with its dynamic black and white image and red strip with UV varnish highlights the 2013 and supports the covers statement ‘Delivering Growth’ and Hot Chili’s progress this past financial year. The report showcases large images of the mining landscape to add visual interest to the report. The layouts are based on the evoliving Hot Chili brand using geometric and angular shapes and is a creative and dynamic way to keep the shadeholders interest while maintaining readability. The result is a striking and visually attractive report that instantly grabs the viewers attention.

We worked closely with Hot Chili to deliver the report in a timely manner and completed all aspects of the job from design to typesetting, print production, interactive reporting and mail-out to subscribers.

We at Hot Chili Limited, are very pleased with the design work and the assistance we have received from Design City in the preparation and dispatch of our Annual Report in 2013. The staff at Design City have been proactive and helpful, and we are proud of the document produced.

It’s been a great year for Hot Chili, who have taken great strides towards establishing themselves as the new and exciting Australian mid-tier copper producer in Chile. The 2012 Annual Report reflects the growth Hot Chili has seen as they transition from explorer to developer.

The cover images inlayed into stylised arrows, for example, showcase this ‘up and to the right ’ movement of the company as well as their drive for growth. The report showcases large images of the mining landscape to highlight current on-site operations and add some visual interest to the report. Layouts used are based on the current Hot Chili branding involving the use of geometric shapes and is creative and dynamic enough to maintain shareholder interest while maintaining readability. The result is a visually attractive report that isn’t traditional in design, but rather, like Hot Chili itself, progressive and distinctive.

We worked closely with Hot Chili to deliver the report in a timely manner and completed all aspects of the job from design to typesetting, print production, interactive reporting and mail-out to subscribers.

Hot Chili Limited has been associated with Design City since April 2010, when work commenced on the Prospectus. The company has received excellent service. The consultants have been innovative and have assisted the company to build the HOT CHILI brand. Hot Chili management has received favourable comments from outside parties, on the various reports and products produced for the company by Design City.

Hot Chili Limited currently making the important position from explorer to project developer. Hot Chili has a portfolio of large multi-commodity copper projects in Chile and with rapid growth in the value of the company, it has outperformed most of its peers recently. Productora is Hot Chili’s flagship multi-commodity copper project, with an operating underground mine and large-scale multi-commodity copper resources amenable to multi-km scale open pit operations.

Following on from their successful IPO (or Intital Public Offering), Hot Chili needed an investor website that was informative and as easy to use as possible. On the top of the to-do list was a projects section that highlighted the advances they'd made on their projects and an investor section capable of evolving with the company and providing investors with all the information they need (as well as fulfilling their legal requirements from ASIC). We also did some copywriting for Hot Chili to help focus the content and really highlight the important aspects of the projects clearly (especially important since the content was specifically written for the more verbose Prospectus). The site also included a newsletter manager that allowed Hot Chili to email investors important news and releases as they happen.

Hot Chili rebranded in 2011 and we reskinned and updated the website to match this new branding. From here the website was much cleaner and visual, focusing on the new achievements of the company.
