Mundella Foods Brand 2013

Mundella Foods Retail Branding, Packaging and Advertising

Mundella Foods is Western Australia’s premier dairy company, winning Australian Grand Dairy Champion Yoghurt for five years (and counting!). Mundella produce a range of natural and delicious pot set yoghurts, cheeses and probiotic yoghurt drinks. Mundella's yoghurt is a favourite of the entire Design City team, and you can frequently see someone oohing and aaahing over a tub of little greek ones or gratuitously spooning some onto the morning muslei.

The Mundella Foods brand has been fun and challenging to work on as a retail brand, and we've focussed on increasing brand value through print, outdoor and online advertising as well as retail product packaging and their award-winning website. Keeping a consistent and on-target message is key - as always - for the Mundella brand, as well as creating an engaging and customer-focussed advertising and point of sale to effectively compete with older, more established brands.

Below are some of our latest brand development, advertising and packaging online/website design work for Mundella Foods.

Taking their yummy yoghurt to the streets, Mundella were looking to increase the awareness of their new range of Little Greek Ones – individual portions of their award-winning (and deliciously) flavoured Greek yoghurt. The scooter adverts needed to have immediate street appeal and be simple enough to be digested in a single glance. The scooters formed part of a larger street and radio campaign.

As Mundella grew, they began releasing new and exciting products and brands - it was now time their website caught up. The challenge with the website was to communicate the brand's natural and friendly personality, engage customers by really showcasing Mundella's products and allow the website to grow and change with the rapidly developing company.

Mundella's audience varies a lot being a retail company. They need to be accessible to a wide range of people, which certainly presents challenges in design and even features. The website needed above all to be family friendly; to appeal to the person who makes most of the purchasing decisions in the household and still be engaging for the rest of the family.

The website we proposed and built for Mundella achieved the following:

  • Conveyed the brand into the online space. The website needed to but fun and exciting with movement, but still accessible. Key focus was on ease of use and 'simplicity': web accessibility was on the top of the list.
  • Focused on the product lines, highlighting the range Mundella created was key for the website.
  • Allowed the client to manage almost every aspect of the website from the content management system. This was key because products, awards, news and health information changed regularly and it was key being able to release the information quickly.
  • Introduced more social networking options to extend its reach better into younger demographics.
  • Compared favourably to much larger dairy producers.
  • Delivered real value for money.

Mundella Foods was looking to create a corporate profile that would showcase the company’s product range and their development and growth over the past 38 years. Mundella started as a handful of local ladies making fresh farm cheese and has now grown to a company with nearly 50 staff producing over 3 million kilos of dairy products. They now have a total of twelve different ranges of award-winning products: from their pot set yoghurt to drinking yoghurt; to ricotta, feta and cheddar cheese and their latest baby and toddler yoghurt.

The company profile evolves the current Mundella brand and is highly visual, using stunning farm photography to highlight how fresh their dairy products really are (they have their own working dairy farm on the property, maximising the freshness and quality of all their products!). Each product is shown off with great product photography and mouth-watering food styling, further highlighting the strength of the company and it’s product range. There is a great awards timeline that shows all of the awards they’ve won stretching back six years that really puts some of the larger dairy producers to shame.

The corporate profile also showcases the different marketing materials we’ve produced, including print, outdoor and online advertising as well as retail product packaging.

The Profile was printed on 100% recycled paper.
