Make an impact, grow your brand

Anything that bears your company name and logo tells a story about your brand. Our job is to make sure that all of your marketing materials tell a consistent story and communicate the right message about your business.

We do this through strategic input, design and implementation for tactical and individual marketing campaigns, and cross-company communications. When required, we can develop a marketing programme that sets out your objectives, prioritises marketing activities and explains how you can get the best results with the budget you have.

Marketing design services

We help to grow brands by developing effective marketing solutions including posters and banners, conference and exhibition signage, newsletters, product catalogues, direct mail, flyers, brochures, invitations, PowerPoint templates, newspaper inserts, CD covers/labels, branded merchandise and much more.

A company profile is a powerful marketing tool, it is an effective way to introduce a new business to potential customers or add value to an established brand. Working closely with the Upstream PS Marketing Department Design City developed a attention grabbing profile with angled page layout and sweeping landscape images showcasing key projects and a multi-disciplined workforce.  The document was designed, artworked, printed and uploaded to the Company website as an interactive pdf.

The profile set the benchmark for future marketing collateral and gave rise to an oil and gas brochure, poster and series of info graphics that contuned the theme.

The brochures have arrived – I just wanted to drop you a note to say how happy I am with them! I love the stock used for the cover. And the colours and the overall design has come up really nicely. Thanks to you and your team.

Global Construction Services, a leading supplier of integrated on-site products and services nationally, contracted Design City to update their 2013 Company Profile / Corporate Profile in an innovative and engaging way.

Having already evolved the GCS branding style for the 2013 Annual Report, we set about translating this new style to the corporate profile. To give the document a professional and unique feel, we decided that a 4-page gate-fold central spread would work a treat. The centre pages fold out into the full spread from the centre, giving the appearance of a gate. Not only does it dramatically showcase the extensive range of GCS products and services, but also to grabs the reader's attention and holds their interest.

The document includes a great sampler of the stunning on-site photography that we've taken on GCS projects throughout the year. They are a dramatic and engaging presence in the document and help give the reader a full understanding of the bredth of GCS's services and work.

The profile has a UV varnish of the key message  "Your leading supplier of integrated products and services" on the cover. The high-gloss UV varnish finish against the matt-laminated solid red cover really stands out and give the document a sophisticated and very professional feel.

Despite the rise of social media solutions, a professionally produced Company Profile is still our preferred marketing tool for presenting our business. It allows GCS to quickly and easily present key information to both existing and potential customers as well as investors. Design City have done an outstanding job with our latest Profile, helping us to further build our image and add credibility to our company. A succinct summary of our organisation’s purpose, function, and outlook.

Cat Chat is Cat Haven’s quarterly newsletter, which updates their cat-loving follower with news, stories and events that take place in the haven.

For 9 years, Design City has supported Cat Haven by building their brand and website, allowing them to focus less on building their public identity and more on doing what's important to them.

Cat Haven came to us to give Cat Chat a new look, as they wanted it to have a ‘magazine’ feel that would be able to be circulated easily and have a modern, updated look.

The new 20 page magazine includes a feature article, a message from CEO Roz Robinson, interviews with Cat Haven’s past and present volunteers, upcoming fundraising events, community stories, and the latest Cat Haven news with tips from their vet.

The magazine is printed on 80gsm glossy stock to give it that 'magazine feel' whilst also being easily folded down to DL for mailing.

The updated visual design have introduced more colour, bigger and brigher imagesas well as an all new and modern page layout. This gives it a contemporary yet friendly feel, whilst continuing to incorporate strong elements from the previous Cat Chat.

Working with Design City on the complete redesign of Cat Chat Magazine was a pleasure, especially considering it was such a massive shift from a standard newsletter style to a complete, modern magazine style publication. They came up with a fantastic concept and made the production of the magazine in future issues a breeze.

Cat Haven required a number of information brochures to hand out to their clients for details on foster caring, pen sponsorship, boarding, bequest program, adoption and the overall charity. The brochures incorporate a range of colours to distinguish each, whilst keeping the same style across all the range. Each one follows the existing look of Cat Haven brand: a striking close up of a pair of cat's eyes.

The brochures have all been created in an easy to handle small format (DL and A5 size). The DL brochures fold out to reveal information, maps and, of course, plenty of pictures of cats.

Cat Haven also wanted a brochure for their Bequest Program, but with a different look to the others. We used a beautiful full-page image on the cover of the A5 brochure to create a softer, appealing look that makes an emotional connection. The internal pages feature black and white images from one of their volunteer photographers, Alicia Cook, and a full double page, colour image as the centre spread.

Overall, the varying colours of the brochures work well together to make each brochure unique, recognisable and easy on the eye.

Over the course of a year, we worked closely with Design City to design a full suite of brochures for the different product/service areas of Cat Haven, where they integrated the existing brand carefully into the suite. They were particularly helpful with suggesting ideas for layout and selecting great strong images. The process was easy and professional from initial concept right through to final print and delivery of the brochures.

The company profile provides an overview of the company and its values. By using ‘key’ hero images, captured by Design City, to convey the diversity of DMC’s services. We developed a library of action images, taken on site, to reflect their services and commitment to help clients realise their civil construction projects.

DM Civil's printed marketing collateral included a custom die-cut folder with an angled flap to keep the company profile and flyers enclosed. Using the corporate colour palette, metallic silver and combining spot UV elements to highlight their tag line and core principles.

We created six distinct division flyersfor DM Civil to showcase the range of services they provide. As part of their rebranding, the flyers are designed to fit in alongside the company profile and to be used as standalone overviews that can be used by staff and in tenders. The flyers cover service areas including:

  • Water infrastructure
  • Pipelines
  • Land development
  • Trenchless technology
  • Mining infrastructure and
  • Trencher Hire & Services

Our copywriter crafted the client’s initial content for consistency and to create a unified voice; highlighting DMC’s expertise and experience in each area.

DM Civil's printed marketing collateral included a custom die-cut folder with an angled flap to keep the company profile and flyers enclosed. Using the corporate colour palette, metallic silver and combining spot UV elements to highlight their tag line and core principles.

The folder includes a back pocket for the company profile and services flyers—with enough room for a proposal or tender as well—as well as a custom holder for a business card.

Kentz is a global engineering specialist solutions provider who supply engineering, construction and technical support services to clients in the energy and resources sectors. Kentz asked Design City to help design and print a recruitment booklet to highlight their employment vision and values that would stand out in the crowded labour market.

The booklet we designed features stepped pages that show a narrow image strip and title on every page. The A5, landscape format showcases the content of the booklet in a simple and effective way. Other features include a single-sided gate fold in the centre spread and a pocket on the inside back cover. The bold design features highlight text and dynamic ribbon images throughout, growing the brand identity.

The grand opening of Instant Waste Management's Materials Recovery Facility necessitated the creation of a profile, highlighting Instant Waste's industry-leading stance on recycling and sustainability. Design City created a visual Company Profile that demonstrated Instant Waste's commitment to waste sustainability and showcased their integrated total waste solutions, focus on waste life-cycle and resource recovery and their ongoing community support.

The corporate profile was a big change in the company's corporate brand, showing their progression to one of WA's most proactive waste solution companies.  The new branding combined bold colour (the corporate colours of blue and orange were matched with an earthy green) and simple, equally strong type. Professional photography was used to highlight the level of service the company provide and showcase their state-of-the-art facilities, bins and fleet.

Talking the talk, Instant Waste also walked the walk, printing their 12 page Company Profile on 100% recycled Revive carbon neutral Australian-made paper.

With a large number of companies operating under the GCS Group umbrella, Global Construction Services, Australia's leading suppler of integrated products and services nationally, requires a consistent marketing approach to their diversified brand. These division flyers showcase the individual strengths and scope of each of the companies, and allows GCS to target the audience based on the individual division.

We focussed on striking photography to engage the reader and maintain a consistent look, enabling GCS to not only market each division effectively but also highlight how each fits into the GCS Group as a whole.

If you’re looking for a solution to your branding and marketing needs, maybe we can help.

Studio Noah is an East-Perth based Pet Photography studio that's as crazy about pets as you are! Celebrating their 10th year of wagging tails, clicking cameras and happy customers, Studio Noah needed marketing materials for the new year.

Studio Noah were quite happy with the look and feel of the brand and collateral, so we made a few tweaks, evolved everything slightly and updated everything for 2013. We worked on a range of materials, including:

  • 2013 Calendar—with dozens and dozens of photos of all kinds of pets, this 12-month calendar is a real showcase of Studio Noah’s talent and is a delight for pet owners.
  • Studio Brochure—a DL overview with plenty of their stunning photography
  • Business Cards
  • Magnets
  • Gift Vouchers
  • Greeting Cards
  • Christmas Vouchers

We also assisted Studio Noah by organising printing and ensuring the print process went smoothly and without error.

Being a leading supplier throughout Australia GCS commissioned Design City to develop a range of flyers that successfully portrayed their extensive range of integrated on-site products and services. These A4 double sided flyers enable GCS to mixed and match various services to market themselves effectively for each meeting.

GCS, a leading supplier of integrated on-site products and services nationally, required new presentation folders that reflected this year's visually engaging Annual Report. Looking at their needs, we decided that two were better than one: a simplified generic folder would cater for everyday day use, while another for large tenders and presentations would highlight the Company's major projects across various industries. We kept the generic folder simple and bold, without pictures of specific projects that would date the folder. The presentation folder, on the other hand, highlights in full colour, major projects and industry sectors to give the folder and contents the WOW factor.

Both folders incorporate a secret bind (to allow documents to be wiro-bound directly into the folder) and are finished with a UV varnish of the GCS key values on a matt-laminated cover.

St John of God Hospital, Subiaco (SJOG) is a member of one Australia's largest private health care providers right here in Subiaco. SJOG came to Design City looking to create a professional invitation for the 2012 Retired Doctors’ Dinner, celebrating the lives and work of retired doctors across WA and their lifelong service. SJOG needed a professional and upmarket invitation for the gala event to be held at Burswood. The night’s theme colours of black and silver were also an important part of the project and give us a good starting place.

The invitations themselves consist of a custom die-cut, folding into a final DL size for easy postage. The invitation also has a foiled caduceus as a symbol of medicine on it and is matt laminated, giving the invite a more refined feel. Included is an RSVP card and reply-paid envelope.

We enjoy the challenge of creating custom invitations with a difference!

Mundella Foods was looking to create a corporate profile that would showcase the company’s product range and their development and growth over the past 38 years. Mundella started as a handful of local ladies making fresh farm cheese and has now grown to a company with nearly 50 staff producing over 3 million kilos of dairy products. They now have a total of twelve different ranges of award-winning products: from their pot set yoghurt to drinking yoghurt; to ricotta, feta and cheddar cheese and their latest baby and toddler yoghurt.

The company profile evolves the current Mundella brand and is highly visual, using stunning farm photography to highlight how fresh their dairy products really are (they have their own working dairy farm on the property, maximising the freshness and quality of all their products!). Each product is shown off with great product photography and mouth-watering food styling, further highlighting the strength of the company and it’s product range. There is a great awards timeline that shows all of the awards they’ve won stretching back six years that really puts some of the larger dairy producers to shame.

The corporate profile also showcases the different marketing materials we’ve produced, including print, outdoor and online advertising as well as retail product packaging.

The Profile was printed on 100% recycled paper.

Instant Waste Management required a marketing document for the grand opening of their Material Recovery Facility—their state-of-the-art recycling and waste diversion system. We conceptualised and created a presentation folder that showcases how Instant Waste and their services help the community and the environment by safely, responsibly and efficiently managing waste and maximising recycling. By highlighting how Instant Waste acts, we are able to show how committed they are to maximising recycling, minimising landfill and creating a sustainable future. This consistency across all their marketing collateral makes for a stronger brand presence and will help to propel Instant Waste forward as one of Perth's powerhouse brands in sustainability.

Leading by example, Instant Waste printed their tri-fold folder on 350GSM recycled stock, reinforcing their 'waste sustainability in action' initiative.

With the merger of Aussie Portables and Alternative Living into AMS, Design City were retained to create a stand out brand identity. Among the most important work that needed to be completed was a presentation folder and corporate profile come company brochure. Key aspects of the folder and brochure were to showcase the new company's breadth of scope and showcase their experience and expertise.

As well as graphic design for the projects, we were also engaged for numerous photo shoots, copywriting for the corporate profile as well as printing both the brochure and folder in 6 colour.

With operations expanding into Sydney targeting larger corporate clients and a motivated sales team eager to get their hands on printed marketing material, Abco required a superior quality corporate profile that would sit comfortably on any board room table, something tactile, visually engaging and with the all important WOW factor!

As a premier supplier of cleaning and hygiene products the profile needed to take a different tack, no unsightly product images of mops and buckets, instead we focused the market sectors; Hospitality, Healthcare, Education and the growth industries of Industrial and Mining to name a few.

The profile was required to fit a standard C4 envelope for mailing purposes, not restricted by this we opted for a six page fold out cover, further embellished with die-cut windows, blind embossing, matt lamination and a spot UV varnish! Who said we don’t like to challenge printers? The internal saddle stitched pages are clean and uncluttered with a minimum amount of text, full page commissioned photographs and testimonials from established clients...who doesn't like to read the nice things a client says about you.

The final printed piece exceeded our clients expectations in design, photography and printing, more importantly the corporate profile has been received well by the sales team and proven invaluable as a marketing document for Abco.
