Search engines look at a website in a very different manner to our naked eye. They don’t see the sleek modern design and cutting edge formatting, instead they have their own way of determining the strength of your website in regards to ranking. Before we start any work on optimising your website we conduct a full SEO audit and content review to determine what elements may require assistance.
Technical SEO Audit
First we begin with the technical side of things by checking how easy search engines can index your website. We put your website through some rigorous tests using specialist tools and our expert experience. In addition to this we have a detailed check list containing over 100 components that we report on, such as:
- Checking all code is correct
- The structure of internal links
- Site performance
- Site architecture
We will compile or findings in a document and meet with you to discuss them in layman’s terms, making sure you fully understand what we are proposing and why. We will then put an action plan in place or work alongside you and your web developer to have these changes implemented.
SEO Content Review
Once we’ve completed your SEO technical audit we begin an assessment of your existing content. Here we look at every aspect of the content on your website including:
- Onsite web copy
- Landing page copy
- Headings & sub headings
- Title tags & meta descriptions
- Anchor text
- Image alternate text
Just like we do with the technical audit, we will provide you with a document containing our findings and suggestions on how to optimise your existing copy for the agreed keywords and phrases. Once we have agreement on the final copy we can upload this for you via the CMS.
